🏀 Australian Masters Games 2019
Adelaide, SA

📝 Tournament Report
The 2019 Australian Masters Games were a landmark moment as the first official event under the Harbour City Breakers banner. Taking four squads to Adelaide —Mixed, Men’s 30+, Women’s 30+, and Women’s 40+ — we established our club identity. This week of competition against everyone from social players to former pros built the camaraderie and tradition that remain the heart of our master's basketball community today.
🏀 First Run
Four diverse teams unified under the Breakers banner
This tournament successfully brought many fresh faces into the Harbour City Breakers club, significantly expanding our playing group. It was also a powerful display of resilience, featuring players who overcame major injuries and setbacks just to be on the court.
🏆 Gold and Grit
Success was headlined by our Mixed Team, whose consistency and teamwork earned them the club's first-ever Gold Medal. Meanwhile, our Men’s 30+ and Women’s 30+ squads both displayed immense heart in hard-fought Bronze Medal matches, narrowly missing the podium against elite national competition.
Our Women’s 40+ side showed incredible growth, improving with every whistle to showcase the patient, team-first style that defines Breakers basketball. Beyond the scorecards, this trip was about the incredible support from family and friends. This foundation of inclusion and mutual trust paved the way for our future, proving that our community thrives when we play for one another and enjoy every moment off the court.
